Question: What is Fiber Optic Service (FIOS)?
Answer: FIOS or Fiber Optic Service is a new type of broadband connection. Common broadband connections include cable satellite and DSL. FIOS is a new type of connection that uses special fiber optic lines to get data to and from your computer quickly. In most markets Fiber internet service is faster than cable and dsl for the home user. Verizon is the largest provider of FIOS service. Different plans are available offering faster speeds for a higher price. You can check to see if FIOS is available in your area by going to www.verizon.com/fios
